Friendship, and men in dresses

Friendship, and men in dresses

This is a scene from the funeral of Private Kevin Elliott of the Black Watch.

The man in the dress is his friend Barry Delainey, who had promised to wear this outfit if Kevin was killed in Afghanistan. No doubt it was meant as a good-luck charm, to keep a mate safe. I’m sure neither young man expected Barry to have to wear the dress.

RIP Kevin Elliott, another brave soldier fallen, another brother lost to us too young. Condolences to his family at this terrible time. My great respect to his regiment.

And well done to Barry, showing us that friends don’t forget.
