Ever wonder how the rest of the world sees you?
This column is #1 on Pravda‘s most-read list at time of writing. The writer identifies France and Britain as criminal states aiding terrorism in their desire to arm the Free Syrians. There is much talk of Napoleon and – wait for it – Churchill as war criminals. Apparently the present leaders follow in their footsteps.
Herald of War can understand a Russian not forgiving the Emperor, but didn’t Mr Churchill have a lot to do with shipping arms to Russia when the Nazis were in the suburbs of Moscow?
The real point comes near the end. The writer is afraid this is about kicking Russia out of the Mediterranean. Ditto the campaign in Libya, the Iraq war and goodness knows what else.
And of course the US is the real master controlling the French and British puppets.
We smaller Western powers don’t rate a mention – I guess we’re just hated by implication.
This might be one random columnist’s rant – but more Muscovites are reading it than anything else in their leading newspaper right now.
And here was me thinking we were all pals together…
